Celebrating the fifth anniversary of IBSA Iberia

IBSA Iberia was founded at the end of 2019 in Barcelona, just before the pandemic began, which forced the company to quickly adapt to an unexpected and unprecedented situation. Far from being an obstacle, the lockdown became an opportunity to lay the foundations of what our business represents today. After five years, we have successfully established ourselves in the pharmaceutical sector, and today we celebrate our fifth anniversary. Below, we highlight the five key milestones of our development

1- EXPANSION IN OUR AREAS

We began our activities with the field of Aesthetic Medicine and over time, expanded our services to include Fertility and Osteoarticular. In the coming months, we plan to incorporate new areas that will strengthen our growth and diversification. "We have focused our efforts on these three therapeutic areas, which offer us growth opportunities in the Spanish market, backed by high-quality products and our own reputation. We look to the future with the goal of expanding our portfolio and entering new segments, such as urology,” says Felipe Hortelano, General Manager of IBSA Iberia.

2- GROWTH OF OUR SALES NETWORK

What started as a team of four people has evolved into a strong presence in Spain and Portugal, with over 30 medical representatives.

3- CONSOLIDATION OF OUR DEPARTMENTS

In these five years, we have managed to structure essential areas for our development: we currently have departments for Medical, Regulatory Affairs, People, Finance, Legal & Compliance, and IT. This internal organisation has been key to supporting our growth and continuously improving our business model.

4- TRANSITION FROM A “MARKETING” TO A “TRADING” SUBSIDIARY

We began as a so-called “marketing” subsidiary of IBSA Group, but in few weeks we will evolve into a “trading” company, becoming the official distributors of IBSA’s products in Spain and Portugal. If until now we were limited to local promotional activities for IBSA products, in the coming weeks – following corporate marketing strategies – we will internally manage the sales of products on the reference market, by implementing all the essential and necessary processes, from administration to logistics, from sales to quality control. This step will allow us to operate directly at local level as IBSA, marketing the products in the portfolio and increasing business opportunities for the entire Group.

5- INCREASE IN THE HUMAN TEAM

We close this fifth year with a team of over 50 people and expect to expand our workforce in 2025. “Person is one of our pillars and our focus. We work to improve the quality of life of patients, as well as that of our employees. We are very pleased that the team continues to grow, but above all that our colleagues enjoy working on this project, young, but with a bright future ahead!” comments Piccarda Donati, Head of People - Legal & Compliance.
